A Lowe’s Canada fundraiser has racked up more than $73,000 for six Niagara organizations.

The annual Heroes Campaign, held each year across Canada raises money through customer donations at the checkout to an organization chosen by the local management at Lowe’s and Rona.

Pathstone Mental Health foundation will receive over $31,000, Welland’s Rose City Kids more than $9,000 and Community Outreach in Fort Erie $14,000.

Other beneficiaries are Gillian’s Place in St Catharines, McNally House Hospice in Grimsby and Niagara Children’s Centre.

Nationally the campaign raised more than $1.5 million, Lowe’s said.

"We've once again reached a new campaign milestone in terms of the number of participating locations this year, as a record number of distribution centres and affiliated RONA dealers joined forces with our corporate stores network," said Jean-Sébastien Lamoureux, Senior Vice-President, Public Affairs, Asset Protection and Sustainable Development in a media release.

"We couldn't be prouder of our 2021 results and how our teams came together under challenging conditions to support worthy causes across the country.
