Local man faces charges after Friday raid on Thorold residence turns up cocaine, $20,000 in cash

A Thorold man is facing drug- and weapons charges after NRPS raided a handful of locations, including a private residence in the city on Friday.

Police said the raid occurred around 4 a.m at a Thorold residence with an unspecified address, where officers found over 150 grams of cocaine and $20,7040 in cash. Officers also found a prohibited knife.

During the same time, NRPS also carried out search warrants at a Lincoln residence, where a smaller amount of cocaine and cash was found, as well as a conducted energy weapon and brass knuckles. NRPS said it estimated the street value of the drugs to $15,000.

A third search warrant was carried out at the clubhouse of Outlaws Motorcycle Club. Police did not say if anything was seized from that location.

Two men are facing charges.

40-year-old Donald Wonch of Thorold is facing the following charges:

- Possession of a Schedule I Substance: Cocaine for Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000, contrary to Section 355(b) of the Criminal Code

- Possession of Prohibited Weapon, contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code

 

57-year-old Robert Nolin of Lincoln is facing the following charges:

- Possession of a Schedule I Substance: Cocaine for Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000, contrary to Section 355(b) of the Criminal Code

- Possession of Prohibited Weapon, contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code
