After months of campaigning, Election Day has finally arrived.

Today, Thorold residents will vote to elect candidates to the positions of: Mayor, City Councillor, Regional Councillor, District School Board of Niagara Trustee, and Niagara Catholic District School Board Trustee.

Although there are eight City Councillor positions to be filled, voters do not need to select a total of eight in order to cast a ballot. If you only want to vote for one candidate, that's totally fine.

Eligible voters can vote at any of the following locations today between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.:

  • Darlene Ryan Port Robinson Community Centre, 40 Cross St.

  • Four Points by Sheraton, 3530 Schmon Pkwy., Topaz Room

  • Rolling Meadows Bible Chapel, 54 Sunset Way

  • Thorold Seniors Centre, 8 Carleton St. S.

  • Thorold Community Activities Group, 131 Richmond St.

Eligible voters are reminded to bring their Voter Letter and one piece of identification. Acceptable types of identification include Ontario driver’s license, Ontario Health Card and Ontario motor vehicle ownership. To view the full list of acceptable identification, check the city’s website.

Election results will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel beginning at 8 p.m., immediately after the polls close. Official results will be shared as soon as they become available on the livestream, the city’s website and social media.

And of course, be sure to check ThoroldToday throughout the day and night for the latest news and results.
