The Niagara Association of Realtors reports home sales surged in June, July and August of 2020 compared to the year previous.
In August, there was a 37.2 per cent increase in residential units sold between 2019 and 2020.
In August, 62 new listings were posted in Thorold alone and 48 homes were sold.
In August 2020:
- 978 residential units were sold
- 1,148 new residential listings were posted
- 35 days was the average number of days it took to sell a home
To compare, in August 2019:
- 614 residential units were sold
- 1044 new residential listings were posted
- 43 days was the average number of days it took to sell a home
In July 2020:
- 993 residential units were sold
- 1,171 new residential listings were posted
- 39 days was the average number of days it took to sell a home

- 610 residential units were sold
- 1221 new residential listings were posted
- 39 days was the average number of days it took to sell a home
In June 2020:
- 767 residential units were sold
- 1,143 new residential listings were posted
- 40 days was the average number of days it took to sell a home
