Health officials in Niagara are warning opioid users of a tainted drug supply making its rounds through the region after a number of recent overdoses.
The Overdose Prevention and Education Network of Niagara issued a severe drug poisioning alert regarding Fentanyl of all colors this weekend, and advised users to be aware.
Karim Ali, Infectious disease lead at Niagara Health tweeted about the advisory.

From January to July 2021, there were 509 suspected opioid overdoses that have been responded to by EMS. This is approximately 73 responses per month.
In 2020, there were 625 suspected opioid overdoses that have been responded to by EMS.
