He is celebrated as one of the most iconic musicians of the modern world and inspired generations of drummers.
Now, St. Catharines-born Rush drummer, the late Neil Peart will be at the centre of a grand tribute in the name of charity.
Peart passed away earlier this year at the age of 67 after a battle with brain cancer.
On May 16, "A Night For Neil" will see his life and legacy celebrated as his music will be performed by world-class musicians and guest speakers, the organizer said in a news release.
The event will be held at the Meridian Centre by charity Overtime Angels and the city of St. Catharines, in cooperation with Pearts family.
Apart from the Overtime Angels, the beneficiaries of the event, chosen by the Peart family, are St. Catharines Hospital and Walker Cancer Centre, The Juravinski Hospital & Cancer Centre in Hamilton, and the Royal Victoria Hospital of Barrie.
