The number of active cases of Covid-19 in the region has climbed above 300 again, following large increases of confirmed infections over the past 3 days.
Monday's 25 confirmed cases come after 122 new infections confirmed between Friday and Sunday, marking the highest daily increases since mid-November.
Increases have been noted in Niagara Falls and St Catharines, with 70, and 82 cases each.
Thorold is currently home to 11 residents who tested positive.
The region's death toll also increased by one case, after a Niagara resident died after testing positive.
Hospitalizations have also increased after the weekend, marking 15 patients now admitted with the virus. 10 are unvaccinated and 5 fully vaccinated.
The majority, 11 cases, are in the 65+ age group, while 2 are in 41-65, and 2 patients aged between 16 and 40.
5 of 15 admitted patients are in the ICU.
Vaccinations are continuing to be administered by Niagara's health care providers.
Currently 75.7 percent of Niagara residents have received a full series of the vaccine.
