COVID-19 in Niagara today: 45 new cases, one more resident passes

The region saw a larger increase in Covid-cases across Niagara on Wednesday after 45 new infections were confirmed.

That is the highest daily case number since early September, according to the region.

One death was also recorded, leaving the official death toll at 431.

44 recoveries were noted, bringing active cases to 241.

Two new outbreaks were also noted, leaving the active outbreak count at 11.

14 patients are now hospitalized, with two in the ICU.

12 of 14 patients are unvaccinated, says Niagara Health.
