COVID-19: Five new outbreaks in Niagara, 25 cases confirmed on Thursday

NRPH reports five new outbreaks and 25 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday. It was not immediately clear where the outbreaks were located, however the list of nursing home outbreaks remain unchanged, with a single outbreak reamining.

There are now 386 active cases in the region, a number that has been rising steadily in past weeks.

Four residents are being treated in hospital according to Niagara Health.

The region's death toll remains unchanged at 375.

256 variant cases have been detected in screenings to date.

There have been over 57,000 doses of the vaccine administered in Niagara.

Over 2,300 cases were reported in Ontario on Thursday - the highest number since January.
