Another Niagara resident has died after testing positive for Covid-19.
The fatality marks the 440th death in the regionassociated with the pandemic since the start in March 2020, according to Public Health data.
The latest death comes as the region confirmed 29 nee cases on Wednesday, with an equal number of recoveries.
There are now 190 active cases across Niagara.
St Catharines, Niagara Falls and Welland are the three municipalities who report the highest case counts.
4 cases are active in Thorold.
There are currently 11 admitted patients in Niagara Health’s hospitals who have tested positive for the virus.
Three are in ICU care.
The vaccination breakdown is split 5-5 between vaccinated- and unvaccinated patients, and one partially vaccinated.
