For the third day in a row, Niagara Public Health reports a single case of COVID-19 in the region. The active case count now stands at 52, with an unchanged death toll of 420.

Wainfleet, Port Colborne and Fort Erie are reported to have no active cases. A single case remains in Pelham, while Thorold has 6 known active cases.

Niagara Health continues to care of a single Covid-positive patient, currently admitted to the ICU in St Catharines.

Over 60 percent of Niagara’s population now has received a complete series of vaccines.

Yesterday, 1,856 doses were administered.

Across the province, 139 new infections were logged, along with 11 new deaths, a number partly due to some deaths early in the pandemic that were not logged.

Wednesday’s numbers is the third straight decline in cases since a period of time last week when over 200 cases were reported per day.
