COVID-19: 38 new cases of COVID-19 today, ICU admissions rise

NRPH reports 38 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

Following 28 recoveries, the number of active cases today is 240, with 24 in Thorold, 58 in St Catharines and 51 in Niagara Falls.

No new deaths were reported.

13 outbreaks are currently being tracked.

Two COVID-19 outbreaks are ongoing in nursing- and retirement homes, as well as one outbreak of another influenza virus at The Meadows of Dorchester in Niagara Falls.

Niagara Health is currently caring for 14 patients, with 4 in the ICU.

13 of 14 patients are unvaccinated, and one is fully vaccinated, said the hospital system in its latest update.

Currently 71.6 percent of Niagara Residents. have received a complete series of vaccines.
