Niagara saw almost 300 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend. With Monday’s 46 reported cases, the number of active cases passed 1,600, however the number remains unreliable due to testing shortages and is believed to be much higher.

52 residents admitted to area hospitals have tested positive, of which 36 are primarily being treated for the virus.

4 of them are in the ICU.

A majority of hospitalized patients are fully vaccinated, and only a handful haven’t taken any of the shots.
