Another Niagara resident passed away on Monday after testing positive for Covid-19, bringing the official death toll to 536 since the pandemic began more than two years ago.
The latest death was a Niagara resident who had tested positive, said Niagara Health in a statement.
The hospital system is now caring for 35 people who are being primarily treated for Covid-symptoms, and 47 others who are primarily in for other conditions.
Niagara’s Public Health agency reported 129 new cases on Wednesday. In the past 28 days, Thorold has seen 206 cases, St. Catharines 1,186 and Niagara Falls 815.
