Niagara continues to see single-digit increases of COVID-19 cases, after Tuesday marked another day with only one new confirmed case.

Following 2 recoveries, the number of known active cases around Niagara is now 52. No new deaths were reported over the long weekend.

A single outbreak is active, however medical facilities and long-term care homes remain free of outbreaks.

In total, Niagara Public Health has tracked over 430 outbreaks since the start of the pandemic last year.

Niagara Health reports a single patient being cared for with confirmed COVID-19. The individual is currently admitted to the ICU, according to the hospital system’s own reporting.

Provincially, Ontario's health authorities have noted a slight increase in cases recently. Over the past couple of days, over 300 cases were confirmed, with 164 on Tuesday.

Ontario’s rolling seven-day average now stands at 201, up from 157 at this point last week.
