46 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the region today

15 Niagara residents are being cared for in area hospitals for symptoms from COVID-19, the latest update from Niagara Health reveals. Three of them are in the ICU.

The latest person to pass away after testing positive was noted on March 11, said the hospital system, bringing the total death toll in Niagara to 522. The number comes as Public Health reported 46 new cases of the virus in the region.

Around 1,150 cases are active in the region according to the official numbers. 

Of them, Thorold has 132, St. Catharines just over 1,040, and Niagara Falls 599.
