Niagara Public Health reports 3 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

The number is a return to the lower daily count of new cases of the deadly virus after a brief peak from the weekends 13 and Tuesday's 9 new cases.

There are now 47 active cases in Niagara.

Most cases have been found in Lincoln.

On Thursday afternoon the region will once again debate if Niagara should demand masks at every indoor establishment in the region.

Both St Catharines and Niagara on the lake have passed face-covering laws in their respective towns.

Thorold Mayor Terry Ugulini, who also sits on the regional council has said he is for mandatory masks.

The debate can be live-streamed here.

It is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
