The number of active COVID-19 cases in Niagara dropped below 300 on Wednesday for the first time in several months, but the list of health care outbreaks has grown.

The news comes as NRPH reported 12 cases in another day with case numbers in the low double-digits.

The list of healthcare-related outbreaks has increased to five locations, following the recent discovery of COVID-19 cases at the Niagara Falls hospital stroke unit.

Hotel Dieu-Shaver in St Catharines was added to the list following a declared outbreak on June 13.

Across Ontario, the province reports a lower positivity rate as 384 new cases were logged, following yesterday's record-low daily total, with 293 infections.
