Every week, ThoroldToday features adoptable pets via the Humane Society of Greater Niagara. For any inquiries about these adoptable friends, reach out to HSGN directly.

Hercules is a total ham and loves attention! He's always happy to meet new friends and is an equal mix of sleepy baby bunny and zoomy crazy bunny! Hercules is a Flemish Giant mix which means he's gonna be big (over 10lb at maturity)! He's 11 weeks old and is already over 5lb! He and his brother Atilla were found abandoned at a shopping center. The cages at the shelter are a bit cramped for Flemish Giants so Atilla and Hercules are in foster care so they can stretch their legs, get socialized, and litter trained! Apply to adopt online and we'll arrange a meeting!

He can go home solo to a doting family or can be bonded to a shy or nervous spayed female bun. Adult bunnies are often more accepting of baby bunnies so an adult-baby bond will often progress more quickly than an adult-adult bond. Remember opposites attract in the rabbit world so you need to match your resident bun to the opposite personality (size/looks don't matter).

The adoption fee is $40 and includes RHDV vaccination, neuter, and vet exam.

Hercules is a giant breed bun so he will need an extra-large exercise pen or bunny-proof bedroom as his home base. Baby bunnies are like puppies - they're always looking for something to get in to! So a roof on the xpen and close supervision when out hopping is a good idea until the baby has grown out of the bonkers-bananas stage (usually around 1 year of age they calm down).
