Woman dies after being struck by car in Niagara Falls

On Sept. 23, 2022, at approximately 1:08 p.m. 2 District – Niagara Falls uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded to a report of an adult female pedestrian having been struck by a car in Niagara Falls.

Officers arrived on scene at McLeod Road and Pin Oak Drive and located a 22-year-old female (Niagara Falls) with injuries in critical condition.   Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics and Niagara Falls Fire Service treated the female.  Despite resuscitative efforts she died at the scene.  The driver of the involved white Jeep Cherokee, a 75-year-old man from St. Catharines was transported to a local hospital for assessment.

After colliding with the deceased female the Jeep then collided with two light poles resulting in live wires being exposed at the scene.  McLeod Road had been closed for the investigation, it has since reopened.

The NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit and Forensic Services Unit have been assigned to the investigation.  The cause of the investigation remains under investigation by detectives.
