At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Thursday July 26, 2019, 3 District (Welland) uniform officers were called to a home in the area of Regent Street and King Street in the City of Welland.
When officers arrived, a 50-year-old male was discovered with apparent stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was subsequently airlifted to an out of town hospital for treatment of his injuries where he remains in stable condition.
Further investigation led to the arrest of a 53-year-old female for the following alleged charge:
• aggravated assault section 268(1) CC
The female was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines on Friday, July 26, 2019.
As the matter is being investigated as a domestic disturbance, the name of the accused will not be released in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim.
