Welland stabbing victim suffers life-threatening injuries

On Dec. 4, 2022, at 2:59 a.m., 3 District – Welland uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a 911 report of a stabbing in the City of Welland.

Officers attended a residence in the area of Margery Road and McMaster Avenue where a male victim in his 30s, was located with serious stab wounds. 

The victim was treated and transported by Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics.

He was taken to a hospital for further care of what is believed to be life threatening injuries.

The initial investigation determined that a male suspect had attended the residence and the victim and suspect had become involved in an argument that escalated to violence. 

The suspect stabbed the victim and fled prior to police arrival. This is believed to be a targeted incident.

The investigation remains ongoing by 3 District detectives and detectives from the Forensic Services Unit of the NRPS.
