Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate this serious collision.

On Aug. 25, 2021, the 60-year-old male driver of the motorcycle from Welland, died in hospital due to injuries sustained in the collision.

Detectives are requesting anyone who may have witnessed this collision or have any information to contact them at 905-688-4111, extension 1009265.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, 6 District (Port Colborne) uniform officers were called to the area of Regional Road 27 and Green Road in regards to a collision.

Investigation has revealed that a number of motorcycles were westbound on RR27 when a silver convertible driven by a female in the middle of the group allegedly slowed down and turned.

Subsequently, one motorcyclist lost control, striking another rider in the group before hitting the guardrail. The adult male was taken to a local hospital before being transported to an out-of-town hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries. 

Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are continuing to investigate and are asking any witnesses, in particular the driver of the car that was driving with the motorcycles at the time of the collision, to contact police at (905) 688-4111 ext 1009265 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
