Victim suffers life-threatening injuries in St. Catharines stabbing incident

On Sunday, May 30, 2021, 1 District (St. Catharines) uniform officers attended a residence in the area of Niagara Street and North Street in the City of St. Catharines in response to a stabbing call.

Investigation revealed that a 36-year-old woman had gotten into a dispute with a 59-year-old woman. As a result, [it is alleged that] the 36-year-old woman hit the 59-year-old woman with a stick multiple times then proceeded to stab her twice.

The victim was transported to an out of region hospital with life-threatening injuries. She is in stable condition.

Sheralee Bryant (36 years old) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the following offences of:
    •    Assault with a weapon
    •    Aggravated assault

Bryant was held in custody and is expected to appear in court on May 31, 2021.
