Two face drug, firearm charges in fentanyl trafficking Investigation

In March 2019 members of the Guns Gangs and Grows Unit and the Opioids Unit with the Niagara Regional Police Service conducted an investigation in to fentanyl trafficking from a Hamilton Street address in the City of Niagara Falls.

Over the course of the investigation, police observed suspected drug trafficking activity at the address. On March 4, 2019, police were granted a search warrant for the address. At approximately 5:20 p.m., police entered the address and arrested the two persons believed to be involved in the drug sales and located a wanted male inside the house.

Police searched the residence and found fentanyl which was tinted blue and a shotgun which was stored in an unsafe manner along with ammunition.

As a result of the investigation police arrested 38-year-old Chae Wright and 56-year-old Maureen Willis both of Niagara Falls. Wright and Willis are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, possession of a firearm knowing possession unauthorized and careless storage of a firearm. Wright was also charged with possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order.

Wright and Willis were held for a bail hearing set for March 5, 2019.
