Three arrested after Port Colborne drug investigation

A total of seven grams of blue fentanyl valued at $2,100, and eight grams of cocaine valued at $700 was seized

In July 2021, detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), 3 District (Welland/Port Colborne) Detachment, commenced an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs within the City of Port Colborne. After receiving judicial authorization, detectives executed two search warrants in the area of King Street and Union Street. 

A total of seven grams of blue fentanyl valued at $2,100, and eight grams of cocaine valued at $700 dollars was seized.

Shane Beauregard (47 years) of Port Colborne was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl) – Contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) – Contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of property obtained by crime – Contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order – Contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to comply with probation order – Contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Kelly Flowers (42 years) of Port Colborne was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl) – Contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) – Contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of property obtained by crime – Contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Jason Nagy (43 years) of Port Colborne was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl) – Contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of property obtained by crime – Contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Beauregard and Flowers were held for a bail hearing and attended the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines via video link on Aug. 11, 2021. 

Nagy was release on a Form 10 Undertaking and will appear at the Welland Courthouse, located at 102 East Main Street, the City of Welland on Oct. 13, 2021.
