Three arrested after $5K in kitchen equipment reported stolen in Port Colborne

On May 3, 2021, 6 District – Port Colborne uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to report of a commercial break in to Canalside Kitchen Store on West Street in Port Colborne.

The initial investigation determined that suspects gained access to the store on May 2, 2021. The suspects stole in excess of $5,000 in kitchen supplies.

The investigation was assigned to detectives from the 3 District Welland Street Crime Unit. As a result of that investigation, the identity of the suspects was determined.

On May 4, 2021 at 11:47 a.m., officers located a black Chevrolet pickup truck parked at the end of Barrick Road in Port Colborne. This was the same vehicle used during the break and enter. A man and woman who were seated in the truck were arrested.

The truck was searched incident to the arrests and stolen property from the break and enter was located within the truck.

Jeffery Lorne Munroe (53 years) of Port Colborne has been arrested and charged with the criminal offences of:
    •    Break and enter - non-dwelling
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Rebecca Dawn Boyd (44 years) of Port Colborne has been arrested and charged with the criminal offences of:
    •    Break and enter - non-dwelling
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
    •    Fail to comply with a probation order

Munroe and Boyd were both released from custody on a Form 10 Undertaking with future court dates.

As a result of the ongoing investigation on May 5, 2021, detectives arrested and charged Ray Bishop (34 years) of Port Colborne. He has been charged with the following offences:
    •    Break and enter - non-dwelling
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Following the arrest of Bishop, detectives recovered more property related to the break and enter.

Bishop was released from custody on a Form 10 Undertaking with a future court date.
