Thorold motorcyclist, 44, dies in crash in Niagara Falls

Police say a 44-year-old Thorold man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Niagara Falls on Saturday afternoon.

The crash took place on Oakwood Drive south of McLeod Road.

Police from 2 District (Niagara Falls / Niagara-on-the-Lake) responded alongside Niagara Emergency Medical Service paramedics and members of the Niagara Falls Fire Dept. shortly after 2:15 p.m.

Police said the collision involved a grey 2022 Chevrolet Equinox and black 2011 Yamaha F8C motorcycle. 

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene, NRPS said in a news release. The driver of the Equinox was not injured, police said.

The cause of the collision remained under investigation by detectives from the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit and the NRPS Forensic Services Unit. 

Witnesses to the crash and motorists who were in the area with an operational dash-camera were asked to review their footage and contact the lead detective at 905-688-4111, option 3, badge 1009472 with any relevant information.
