St. Catharines car wash arson remains under investigation

No injuries were reported in the incident

Thursday, April 1 2021, at approximately 8:24 p.m., 1 District – St. Catharines uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a fire call in St. Catharines.

Officers arrived on scene at the Petro Canada located at 330 Ontario St. with members of the St. Catharines Fire Service. The car wash building was found to be on fire and was subsequently extinguished.

The car wash has not been in operation for approximately one year. No one was injured. The fire is being treated as an arson.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity on April 1, 2021 between 7:30 and 8:25 p.m. in the area of the car wash is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, ext. 1009531.

Members of the public who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to persons who contact the program with information which leads to an arrest.
