St. Catharines man charged in gas station robbery investigation

On Feb. 2, 2019 at approximately 6:30 a.m., a male suspect entered the Petro Canada Gas Station located at 198 Glenridge Ave., in the City of St. Catharines. 

The suspect, who was wearing a mask and winter clothing, demanded money from the lone store clerk. The clerk, in fear for his safety, surrendered an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled the area on foot. 

The subsequent police investigation lead to police locating and arresting Cody Atkinson-Firth, 21 years of age, from St. Catharines. He is charged with robbery, disguise with intent, possession of a schedule I substance, and fail to comply with probation.

Atkinson-Firth was taken to the Niagara Regional Police Central Cells and held pending a bail hearing.
