Police seize over $32k worth of drugs in St. Catharines trafficking investigation

In August, 2019, Members of the #1 District Street Crime Unit commenced a drug investigation into drug trafficking in the City of St.Catharines.

On Sept. 19, 2019 Detectives executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at an apartment in a north St.Catharines neighbourhood. Detectives seized over $32,000 in drugs and approximately $20,000 in cash as proceeds of crime.

Charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance and one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime is 64-year-old Robert Balyk of St.Catharines.

Charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance is 62-year-old Anthony Petrushko of Welland.

Both Balyk and Petrushko were released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
