Police seek to identify two suspects in St. Catharines armed robbery (3 photos)

On Saturday, May 11, 2019 at approximately 1:30 p.m., members of the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a robbery at Pelham Variety at 118 Pelham Rd. in the City of St. Catharines.

The initial investigation revealed that two male suspects approached the store, while wearing disguises. [It is alleged that] they entered the store, brandishing a firearm and demanded currency and cigarettes from the lone clerk. 

The clerk was not injured in this incident; however, the suspects exited the store with an undisclosed amount of goods. The suspects ran to a waiting vehicle and then fled from the area. The vehicle is believed to be a newer model, four-door brown Toyota Corolla. 

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6'0", with a medium build, wearing a black and white bandana over his face, black gloves, a black 'Crooks and Castle' hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white running shoes. 

The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6'0", with a medium build, wearing a black and white bandana over his face, a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes with white soles.

Detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service Criminal Investigations Bureau in St. Catharines are appealing to the public, requesting anyone with information that could assist in identifying these parties, contact Detective Constable Lindsay Medd at 905-688-4111 ext. 1009463.
