On Saturday, Feb. 9 at approximately 11:50 a.m., police attended a residence located in the area Niagara Street and Church Street in response to an assault with a weapon call.
Upon arrival police found a 46-year-old female suffering from multiple wounds as a result of a verbal altercation that turned physical.
The victim, who suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries, was transported to Niagara Health System where she was treated and subsequently released.
The suspect, who is described as a female, approximately 30 years of age, has not yet been identified.
The investigation which is ongoing is currently being conducted by members of Once District Criminal Investigations Branch.
