The missing elderly male has been located deceased in the area of Ricardo Street and Navy Hall in the Town of Niagara on the Lake. 
 
Out of respect for next of kin, no further details will be released at this time.
 
The Niagara Regional Police Service would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this investigation.

At approximately 10:44 a.m. on today's date, the Niagara Regional Police Service commenced an investigation into a missing 89-year-old male from Niagara on the Lake.

The male, Egon Epp (89 years old) left his residence at approximately 8:30 a.m. on today's date heading for the Post Office on Queen Street in Niagara on the Lake.  Epp resides in the area of Charlotte Street and James Street in Niagara on the Lake.

The investigation has determined that he did not attend the post office. The last sighting of Epp was at 8:30 a.m. near Charlotte Street and John Street East where he was observed walking northbound.

Epp is described as:
    •    5'6", slender build, clean shaven
    •    Blonde/grey hair
    •    Walking with a cane

Wearing:
    •    Dark brown jacket
    •    Brimmed hat "Greek style"
    •    Brown pants
    •    Beige suede shoes

The family of Epp and the police are concerned for his welfare as a result of the weather and his ongoing medical conditions.

The public is asked to be on the lookout for Epp as he may be on foot in the Old Town area of Niagara on the Lake.
