Police searchng for suspects in robbery outside Fort Erie bank

The victim sustained minor injuries in the robbery, which happened shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday

On Saturday May 1, 2021 at approximately 6:52 a.m., 5 District (Fort Erie) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Jarvis Street, in the Town of Fort Erie in regards to a robbery.

Uniform officers attended the Bank of Montreal located at 61 Jarvis Street, in the Town Fort Erie. Initial investigation revealed that a 24-year-old male victim was robbed while making a deposit in the exterior deposit box.

The victim was approached  from behind and thrown to the ground prior to the suspect stealing a bag containing currency. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result. 

K9 attended the scene however had negative results in locating the suspect.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • White
  • 20-30 years old
  • Tall
  • Slim build

Clothing description:

  • Baseball cap
  • Dark scarf covering his face.

Further investigation revealed a second suspect. 

Suspect No. 2 is described as:

  • Male
  • Black
  • Tall
  • Slim build
  • 20-30 years old

Clothing description

  • Black winter jacket
  • Grey hooded sweatshirt
  • Grey sweat pants with patches on calf area of the pants
  • Grey toque
  • Light coloured shoes.  

The investigation remains ongoing by detectives with the 5 District Detective office.
