Police searching for missing 74-year-old from Fort Erie (Update: located)

Update:

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at approximately 2:00 pm, the Niagara Regional Police responded to the area of 32 Idlewylde Street in the Town of Fort Erie for a report of found human remains. 

The remains have positively been identified as those of Desmond Teague who was reported missing on September 30, 2022. 

The investigation into this matter is now being classified as a homicide and remains ongoing.  

The Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit is appealing to anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Desmond Teague or suspicious activity in the area of Idlewylde Street to contact Detectives at (905) 688 – 4111, dial option 3, ext. 1009132

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is currently conducting a missing person investigation stemming from the Town of Fort Erie.

Detectives assigned to 5 District are searching for Desmond Teague (74 years) of age.  He was last seen in the area of Forsythe Street and Archange Street, in the Town of Fort Erie on Sept. 28, 2022, at 7 a.m.

Desmond is described as follows:

  • Male
  • White
  • 5’7” tall
  • 150lbs
  • Grey/brown hair (short)

Desmond is believed to be wearing blue jeans.

Both the police and Desmond’s family are concerned for his welfare.

5 District (NRPS) officers are asking the public for assistance.  Anyone who may have information as to the whereabouts of Desmond is being asked to contact the NRPS Communications Unit at 905-688-4111.
