Police searching for 81-year-old St. Catharines man (update: located)

Update:
Charles "Chuck" Woods and his vehicle have been located safe outside the Niagara Region.

The Niagara Regional Police would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter.

The Niagara Regional Police Service is presently searching for 81-year-old Charles “Chuck” William Woods in St. Catharines.

On May 14, 2022, at approximately 12:30PM, 1 District St. Catharines uniform officers were contacted by Wood’s family to report him missing.

Woods was last seen on May 13, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m. at his residence in the area of Ontario Street and Welland Avenue in St. Catharines.  Woods drove away in a red 2021 Hyundai Venue with a black roof, (Ontario licence plate CRKT334) and did not return.  His destination was unknown.

Woods is described as:

  • White male
  • 5’6” feet tall.  Approximately 250lbs.
  • Short grey hair
  • No teeth
  • Walks with crutches
  • Tattoos
    • Mermaid tattoos on his forearms

He was last seen wearing:

  • Dark grey T-Shirt
  • Black shorts with a red stripe
  • Baseball hat with "Peters Tackle" logo

Woods has ties to the Orangeville area of Ontario. 

Woods’ family and the police are concerned for his welfare.  Woods requires medication for pre-existing medical conditions.
