On May 25, 2022 at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines) responded to the Western Hill area in the City of St. Catharines for a reported stabbing.

Officers arrived on scene in the area of Edith Street and St. Paul Street West and found a female victim in her teens suffering from a serious stab wound. The victim was assessed at the scene by Niagara Emergency Medical Service (NEMS) paramedics before being transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment.

A female suspect was determined to have fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. The female has since been identified by 1 District detectives who have assumed carriage of the investigation.

On May 26, 2022, an arrest warrant was issued for Samantha May Alligood, 32 years of age. Alligood has significant ties to the City of St. Catharines, particularly the Western Hill area.

Samantha May Alligood is wanted for the criminal offences of:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Uttering threats
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Samantha Alligood is described as:

  • Female
  • Black
  • 5’5” tall
  • 150 lbs
  • Brown eyes
  • Black medium length hair
  • Tattoos:
    • left forearm – word – “Jay”
    • left wrist – floral band
    • right shoulder – music note

Alligood’s location is unknown. Due to the violent nature of this incident, members of the public who see Alligood or know her location should not approach. Instead, members of the public are encouraged to contact the NRPS Communications Unit at 905-688-4111 or 911 in the event of an emergency.
