Police looking for suspect in armed robbery at St. Catharines restaurant (4 photos)

Police responded to a report of a robbery at approximately 2:20 p.m. Wednesday
On Aug. 4, 2021 at approximately 2:20 p.m., 1 District – St. Catharines uniform officers responded to Fryin Guys Restaurant on Lake at Dufferin Street in St. Catharines for a report of an armed robbery.

Officers arrived on scene and their initial investigation determined that a lone male had just entered and robbed the restaurant while brandishing a handgun. The suspect fled the area on a bicycle prior to officer’s arrival with an undisclosed amount of money. No staff members or customers were physically injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male White
  • Approximately 5’10, 150 pounds – slender build
  • Matted or dread lock mid length light brown hair
  • A tattoo on his right calf

The suspect’s clothing is described as:

  • Blue baseball cap (backwards) with a bandanna underneath
  • Blue/grey long sleeve button down shirt
  • Blue knee length plaid shorts
  • Black face mask
  • Red and white socks pulled up past the ankle
  • Yellow gloves
  • Black Nike backpack with a white swoosh on the back with a black side bag

The bicycle has a black frame with a red marking or logo on the bottom bar and a white seat.

The male was last seen riding the bicycle on Dufferin Street, eastbound towards York Street.

1 District detectives have been assigned to the investigation.  Detectives have been able to obtain photos of the suspect.

Anyone (residents or businesses) in the area with closed circuit security cameras, doorbell video cameras, or dash cameras are asked to review their footage for suspicious activity for the period between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Aug. 4, 2021.
