The missing male has been located and is safe with his family. Thank you to the public and members of the media for their support and efforts to locate him.

3:45 p.m. original release

The Niagara Regional Police is attempting to locate a missing Niagara Falls man.

On Jan. 21, 2019 at approximately 2:20 p.m., uniform officers responded to a residence in the area of McMicking Street and St. George Avenue for a report of a missing 72-year-old man.

Jorge "George" Vancea is believed to have left his residence on foot. His current whereabouts are unknown. He was last seen at approximately 1:30 p.m. on today's date.

Due to the weather and preexisting medical conditions the police and his family are concerned for his welfare.

Male described as:
    •    bald
    •    5'10", medium build

Last seen wearing:
    •    light Hugo Boss jacket, grey
    •    crochet hat, green/black
    •    pants, dark blue
    •    Winter boots, black

The public is asked to be on the lookout for this male.
