Police investigate indecent act on Grimsby hiking trail

On September 7, 2023, 8 District (Grimsby / West Lincoln / Lincoln) uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a report of an indecent act.

Officers met with the adult female victim who reported that on September 7, 2023, between 9:00am and 9:30am she had been hiking on the trails of Beamer Memorial Conservation Area in Grimsby. The victim had parked in a lot off Quarry Road.

While walking she saw a man on the trail ahead of her. The man began walking towards her and exposed his genitalia and performed an indecent act. The victim ran from the area to the safety of her car and called 911. Officers checked the area and were not able to locate the suspect. The victim does recall other hikers in the area at the time of the occurrence.

The unknown suspect is described as:

  • White male, approximately 40 years of age
  • Blonde/grey hair
  • Very tall with a medium build.

The suspect’s clothing is described as:

  • Blue stripped polo style T shirt
  • Dark pants

Conservation Area users are reminded to be vigilant and alert to their surroundings. Hiking with a partner is advisable.
