Police investigate after community mailbox damaged

On March 17, 2021, 8 District – Grimsby uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service were dispatched to a report of vandalism to a mailbox in the Town of Lincoln.

Officers attended to the mailbox in the area of King Street and Martin Road. The initial investigation determined that the community mailbox had been damaged when some of the box doors had been pried open. Damage was estimated at $50.

This particular community mailbox had been damaged four times previous.

Officers have also noted damage at other mailboxes as well (Beamsville and Grimsby). Residents who live near community mailboxes are requested to report any suspicious behaviour.

Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, ext. 1009021.
