Police in St. Catharines seize cocaine, two face trafficking charges

A search warrant led to the seizure of $7,450 in cash, $67,000 in cocaine and $1,000 in MDMA

In June of this year police began an investigation into the sale of drugs from a St. Catharines apartment building. Two individuals were identified as being responsible for the sale of these drugs.

As a result of the investigation, On Wednesday, July 3, 2019 members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Emergency Services Unit, Guns, Gangs, and Grows Unit, Morality Unit and members of the Toronto Police Service 12 Division Major Crime Unit executed a drug search warrant on a Glenridge Avenue apartment building. Upon executing the search warrant police arrested a lone male occupant of the apartment.

Police searched the apartment and located a large quantity of cocaine, MDMA, and cash.

Charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and one count of possession of proceeds of crime is 24-year-old Carl Dixon. Charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking is 20-year-old Yousaf Khalid.

In total police seized $7,450 in cash, $67,000 in cocaine and $1,000 in MDMA.
