Officer dragged while conducting traffic stop

One shot was fired by the officer involved towards the vehicle.  No injuries were sustained

At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Thursday Aug. 22, 2019, 2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers were called to the area of Drummond and Dunn St in the City of Niagara Falls over the reports of a vehicle driving erratically.

The officer was able to initiate a traffic stop, but was then subsequently dragged a short distance following an interaction.  One shot was fired by the officer involved towards the vehicle.  No injuries were sustained.

The suspect fled in the vehicle, the officer was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019, a male suspect was arrested in the area of Magdalen Street and McGrail Avenue in Niagara Falls.

Police are still searching for the suspect vehicle involved, described as a 2008 2 door white Honda Accord with Ontario licence plate "CKLZ 605"
