Niagara police seek two suspects in armed bank robbery

Police believe they fled the scene in Niagara Falls in a white Dodge Caravan

On Feb. 23, 2023, at 8:01 p.m. Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers assigned to 2 District (Niagara Falls / Niagara-on-the-Lake) responded to the Meridian Credit Union, located at 4780 Portage Road, in the City of Niagara Falls regarding a robbery that just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers determined two male suspects entered the bank, brandished a handgun, and demanded cash from the employees. The suspects received an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency. No employees received any physical injuries.

Detectives assigned to the 2 District Criminal Investigative Branch have assumed carriage of the investigation. They are being supported by detectives from the Forensic Services Unit.

Suspect No. 1 is described as follows:

  • Male
  • Black
  • 50 years of age
  • 6’0” tall
  • Slim build
  • Wearing a black mask
  • Wearing a black jacket
  • Wearing black gloves
  • Wearing dark grey pants
  • Wearing black shoes

Suspect No. 2 is described as follows:

  • Male
  • Black
  • 30 years of age
  • 5’9” tall
  • Medium build
  • Wearing a mask
  • Wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with “BARRIE” on the left chest and a maple leaf logo underneath
  • Wearing black pants
  • Wearing burgundy shoes

The suspects are believed to have fled the scene in a white Dodge Caravan.
