Man charged with committing indecent act in public

The 52-year-old man entered a business in West Lincoln, where police say he committed an indecent act in front of female staff members

On Sept. 23, 2022, 8 District – Grimsby uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a business in West Lincoln for a report of an indecent act.

Officers met with staff who reported that on Sept. 22, a man entered their business. While in the business, the man was observed by female staff members committing an indecent act. The man quickly left the business. The man was subsequently identified, and on Sept. 25, he was arrested.

William Vanbrederode, 52, of Lincoln, has been charged with:

  • Commit an Indecent Act in a public place 173(1) CC

Vanbrederode was held in custody and attended a video bail hearing on Sept. 26 at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
