Man charged in connection with St. Catharines stabbing

On Aug. 4, 2022, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) detectives assigned to 1 District Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB) identified and arrested the male suspect.

Mason Jeannotte (34 years) of St. Catharines is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Fail to comply with release order

Jeannotte has been held for a bail hearing scheduled to take place on August 5th, 2022, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.

Detectives have identified the female suspect and the investigation surrounding her involvement continues to be ongoing.  As the female suspect has not been arrested, her identity is not being disclosed at this time.

Dozens of tips were received, and detectives would like to thank members of the public who assisted by providing information related to the identity of the two suspects.
