Fort Erie collision sends pedestrian to hospital with life-threatening injuries

NIAGARA REGIONAL POLICE SERVICE

On Monday Aug. 30, 2021 at approximately 7:30 a.m., 5 District (Fort Erie) uniform officers, the Fort Erie Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to the area of the Niagara River Parkway and Netherby Road in the Town of Fort Erie for a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

Investigation revealed that a 67-year-old male was operating a black Chevrolet Silvarado pickup truck northbound on the Niagara River Parkway when it struck a 50-year-old female pedestrian on the east shoulder of the road.

The female pedestrian was transported to an out of region hospital with life threatening injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing by detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit.
