Former family doctor faces additional sexual assault charges

As a result of further investigation, additional victims have been identified and more charges have been laid.

Three further female victims have been identified, between the ages of 54 and 64, with the offences taking place between Aug. 31, 1994 and Sept. 31, 2018.

Seventy-six-year-old Charles Duncan is facing the following alleged charges:
    •    Four counts of sexual assault

Duncan will appear in court on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.

Original release - Nov. 6, 2019
In September of 2019, Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service Sexual Assault Unit began an investigation regarding allegations of sexual assault.

Subsequently, on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019 a 73-year-old male was arrested and charged in relation to two separate incidents involving a 16-year-old female and a 39-year-old female while the accused was practicing as a family doctor in the Town of Pelham.

Seventy-six-year-old Charles Duncan of the City of St. Catharines is facing the following alleged charges:
    •    Sexual assault (3 counts)
    •    Sexual exploitation (1 count)

Duncan is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Nov. 6, 2019 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.
