On Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024 at approximately 11:30 a.m., 3 District (Welland/Fonthill) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Wellington Street and Memorial Park Drive in the City of Welland in response to an assault call.
Investigation revealed there was a disturbance in the area when a female suspect discharged pepper spray at the crowd.
Four male youths sustained minor physical injuries as a result.
As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify the female suspect.
Destynie Tempeny, 19 years old of Dunville, Ont. is wanted for the following charges:
- assault with a weapon (four counts)
